东莞市钱币博物馆是一座以弘扬货币文化、普及金融知识为主题的金融类博物馆，是中国钱币与银行博物馆委员会会员单位。

        2001年，东莞市钱币博物馆由农商银行（原东莞农信社）筹资建设；2002年，展馆落成，经东莞市文化局批准，定名为“东莞市钱币博物馆”，为民办博物馆性质；2010年底起，新馆扩建、升级、搬迁工作经精心策划，2012年12月5日东莞市钱币博物馆新馆落成开放。12月18日，广东省政府授予“广东十大民间收藏馆”称号。

        东莞市钱币博物馆新馆位于东莞市鸿福东路2号东莞农商银行大楼首层，处于东莞核心CBD区内，毗邻东莞市政府中心广场和图书馆、科技馆、展临览馆等八大城市公共文化服务机构，紧挨东莞地标建筑东莞台商协会、大型商圈，便利的交通条件为东莞市钱币博物馆更好的开放和服务市民提供了有利条件。

        东莞市钱币博物馆由钱币博物馆和东莞农商银行行史博物馆两个展馆组成，建筑面积3000平方米，陈列展览面积约2400平方米，包含序厅、展厅、临展厅、影院（2个）、VIP休息室、销售区、库房和办公室等完善的空间功能。

　    （一）钱币展厅

　    钱币博物馆位于二层，展厅1800平方米，展出钱币实物3000余件。展厅按内容划分为四个篇章，分别是历史篇、流通篇、技艺篇、鉴研篇。每个篇章既能独成一篇，又能与其他的篇章连成一体。展览内容以中国古代、近代、当代的钱币实物、票据实物、工艺实物为主要陈列方向，结合货币流通中的机构发展、技术发展情况进行展览，同时也展陈世界200多个国家（地区）的钱币实物，纵贯古今，横贯中西。

　    （二）东莞农商银行行史展厅

　    东莞农商银行行史博物馆位于一层，展厅面积600平方米，展出相关实物123件。通过文件材料、办公用品、票证实物、历史相片等大量实物，结合先进的展览艺术，生动展现东莞农村金融、地方金融的建设和发展情况，将银行与社会共成长的故事呈现在观众面前。

　　

　    Dongguan Numismatic Museum is a financial museum with the theme of carrying on and promoting numismatic culture and popularizing financial knowledge.Opened to the public from December 5,2012,it is a member of ICOMON-China.

　    On December 5,2012,the new building of Dongguan Numismatic Museum was completed its construction.The new building,located at #2,Hongfu Road(East),Dongcheng District,Dongguan City,covers a construction area of 3000㎡,and is equipped with a show area of roughly 2400m2.Thousands of various kinds of real currencies of ancient China,modern China and foreign countries,as well as anti-bogus-currency materials,are collected and shown here.The exhibition hall of the new museum is divided into four parts: history,circulation,technology and appreciation.The show organically combines passion,situation and object with advanced manner.That contributes to a financial comprehensive museum for visitors to research funny currency world,learn development history of Chinese currency and finance,and to enjoy numismatic culture of the world.
